FIRST DEGREE LAUNCHES NEW LABEL DESIGNER

First Degree Systems - the software specialists for the window industry - have launched 'Label Designer', a module that allows fabricators to have complete control over the content and layout of their manufacturing labels.

Forming part of Window Designer - First Degree's flagship manufacturing and order processing software - Label Designer has been designed to allow fabricators to quickly and easily edit their manufacturing labels to their desired specification.

The labels can either be printed from an office printer or alternatively, the Label Designer automatically changes the driver instructions to a printer enabled CNC Machining and Prepping centre.

Alan Bark, First Degree's Operations Manager comments; "At present, most fabricators have a label design hard coded into their saw driver and editing can be an expensive and time consuming process. Previously, our development team would have to change the driver remotely and send it across for each change, incurring delay and additional cost. Our Label Designer allows users to simply drag and drop the information in the required space and the content can be changed as often as they need to. The module includes snap to grids to make design even easier and there is a vast array of possible information available at the user's disposal. Meanwhile, barcodes can be added and full graphics with highlighted piece information is provided."

The Label Designer is just one of the modules available from First Degree, who have designed a host of programmes that improve factory efficiency, make order processing easier and to help installers clinch sales from homeowners. Alan Bark concludes; "We have a wide variety of module within Window Designer to suit the varying needs of our customers. Not only do we help fabricators cut costs and save manufacturing time, but installers benefit from online ordering and presentation modules for sales people. But we are not resting on our laurels. We are currently testing the next generation of manufacturing and business management software which promises to take the package we offer our customers to a whole new level."
